Perfect cat suitcase
Done laughing at the title yet?... Seriously, though, this is my cat's suitcase. My cat travels with me, so this holds everything he needs and attaches to carabiners clipped to his carrier. That way, airlines consider it part of his carrier and I don't have to use my one remaining carry-on for his stuff. It's also his emergency/evacuation bag, but he doesn't know that. Because it goes wherever he does, he doesn't get nervous when I grab it. It's probably his favorite object on earth. It holds pouches of wet food, a baggie of kibble, a couple of emergency water pouches, pouches of low-sodium tuna packed in water (vet-approved special snack!), a tube of catnip, several toys, his medicines, **** syringes and a pill popper, kitty first aid kit (clipped to the outside), some basic first aid supplies for humans handling a stressed-out cat, an extra harness, collar, and lead with ID tags and his last expired rabies-shot tag, vet paperwork like health certifications and his microchip number, disposable gloves and small trash bags, collapsible food and water dishes, his training clicker and wand, high-calorie paste and appetite stimulant, hairball paste, an extra dose of flea medicine, Feliway spray, a bundle of clean shop rags, hand sanitizer, surface sanitizing wipes, and treats. So many treats! Whatever toys and treats he shows the most interest in live in his suitcase until he moves on to new favorites. That way, whenever I so much as reach in the direction of his suitcase, he gets very excited, because so many fun and delicious things live in there. It's not too large; it's about the same size as my cat, and a little heavier with all that packed in. He can't carry it, but he can drag it several feet and has done so before to ask for treats. We get a lot of tornadoes here, and whenever there's a tornado warning, I can just grab his bag and head for the tornado closet. He'll follow me eagerly, because just like his suitcase goes wherever he does, he goes wherever it does. I shut the closet door, get his emergency harness on him (with ID, a Tile, a GPS tracker, and a blinking light), and start hauling treats and toys out of his suitcase. He doesn't even notice he's just been trapped in a closet; all he knows is that he's about to have the time of his life -- and I know I have everything he needs for about three days plus the ability to handle minor injuries, and I have a good chance of finding him if the house is damaged and he gets out. (He's trained to come find me for a treat whenever the Tile on his harness rings.) The MOLLE allows me to attach his suitcase to my own evacuation bag, if it comes to that, or his carrier. The fabric has withstood about five years of excited kitty-kneading and claw-sharpening without any visible signs of the abuse, and cat puke wipes away with a damp cloth. Sorry for the gross image, but it's a very practical feature worth mentioning. There are lots of other, far less hilarious things this bag is great for, and I agree with the other positive reviews. I just wanted to add my experiences here because nobody else is talking about how this bag makes a perfect suitcase for a cat. If you've got a pet, you need a plan for emergencies, and this bag is an ideal component of that plan whether you shelter in place or evacuate. As a bonus, you can then give everyone a much-needed laugh in an unpleasant situation by mentioning your cat's suitcase.
